Likely Evidence of a Genetic Link To Depression

An article in the Huffington Post says researchers think they’ve found a genetic link to clinical depression. This article follows on another that I posted a few days ago on new research in the field of epigenetics. Here is my link to the Epigenetic story:

Grandma’s Experiences Leave Epigenetic Mark on Your Genes.

So researcher’s may have moved one step closer to finding a natural cause for same-sex attraction, but that does not mean it is normal. The research is throwing a spotlight on gene mutations and although such mutations are natural, the result is neither normal nor desirable. Similar mutations also cause Sickle-Cell Anemia, various cancers, Down Syndrome, and a long list of other afflictions. On the bright side, the possibility of new gene based therapies resulting from these discoveries may mean that we will be entering some very interesting times.
