In the USA we turn back our clocks one hour tonight as we return to Standard Time. For some years many have questioned the value of doing this, so I thought the following article from RT might be interesting to my readers. Russia is abandoning Daylight Savings Time or Summer Time next year as they have decided that there is little or no benefit from it. The country had been on permanent DST for the last three years, but the move proved unpopular so it has been changed to eliminate DST altogether. The law eliminating DST also restores all 11 time zones which have been reduced to “only” 9 with the older legislation.
